This was the 1st take (and therefor a rough mix) of Under The Star.
Making this song was a big fun.
i include it here (with the lead-off track "finished" version) because it's a bit of a demonstration of how i work. Vocals & guitars were re-cut after this initial "trail run."
I tend to work up the ideas for a song pretty fast. Chord progressions, & melodies can come pretty quick. But, the filigree parts are the ones that i like to concentrate on. You can do a lot with two guitars, bass & drums, if you give them a distinctive voice and don't over-think their inter-play.
My secondary parts are almost always composed & executed "on the fly."
