We begin with a Christmas song of the Isaiah sort. I've always said the "good news" makes no sense until you grapple with the "bad" news first. From within and without, we are confronted by a world that yearns to be set free from it's broken-ness. Christmas is the reminder that all is God's grace. It is His willingness to take on human skin and begin to "make all things new." Hearts are examined, cleansed and empowered. There is much for our hands to be about: Christ calls us to incarnate the first fruits of charity and justice for the poor, the downtrodden, the suffering. In short: Our neighbor. One doesn't have to look very far to find him/her.
