BABY, I WAS LUCKY (to get outta there alive) words & music by bill mallonee Summer c.2020 admin. BMI Sit down at the table; This place always keeps the lights down low They all speak in whispers but I can here the diminishing of souls Now,now, now baby I don't ever play when the deck is stacked There's too much evil in these parts and no one's got my back I tried that suit on one, but it was really just for size Sweet darlin' i was lucky to get out of there alive Oh, Baby, i was lucky to get out of there alive Well, you know what they say: "When you get the ball give it your best shot." But you should remove that silk tie when you put your head up on that chopping block And if the ax should fall much to your dismay Just hold onto to your heart, might live to fight another day I struck the match and flash it opened up my eyes I tell you, baby i was lucky to get outta there alive Now, we're parked here at the last verse & there's so much I seem to forget And it's time to take the test and i haven't even learned my lesson yet Sages, they speak in clipped phrases and prophets? they sing their lamatations you may get some airplay but just keep it to 3minutes in duration And if their ears are full of wax, by God this too shall pass And if their backs are turned? Well, just preach it to their ass Now, the hangman sold cravats by day his Windsor Knot was an enviable tie Baby, I was lucky to get outta there alive, etc... released October 2, 2020 Bill: song, vocals, guitars, bass all rights reserved

ONE STEP INTO THE LIGHT words & music by Bill Mallonee admin BMI c2020 published by "Once More, This Time With Feeling" Music She waved to me from the river side as we pulled into New Orleans There's not a lotta work for a sideshow freak pursuing his wildest dreams Be they dreams of "parlay" and "savoir faire" ah, but for so long I've been on my own It's just one step into the light and He will carry you home now, now, now what's a poor boy, a poor boy to do when he's catches sight of an angel likes of you 'cept to hurl himself off a balcony at those feet that walk on water They say that Love transforms just like Beauty & the Beast Now, I'm here to testify sometimes it's lavished on the least i know, i know... It's just one step into the light and He will carry you home She was a lovely hitch-hiker by the riverside She said "I'm looking for someone with whom to start a new tribe So are you in, my brother? Or are you out? I'm give exactly one minute to think about it... "I've got these dreams of my own of "parlay" and "savoir faire" So debonair...and we will never be alone..." It's just one step into the light and He will carry you home credits released December 14, 2020 Bill Mallonee; Vocals, guitars, drums, bass. all rights reserved

AmeriCacophony words & music: bill mallonee I was not the first to see it baby, i was late to the show but, there's a long unbroken line of truth It's there just so you'll know but usually such voices get drowned out by dissonance & deviltry It all settled down upon us like the ashes of the dead Widely disseminated with hate & blame & dread they were drunk on some elixir spiked with poison & with greed America, America Americacophony Be it myth or history or just "once upon a time" first there was that beautiful song till the darkness broke the rhyme now Compassion? she was locked up and they threw away the key America, America Americacophony I was not the first to see it nor, shall i be the last There's a Kingdom from the Man of Love So let that be our path He is Risen loose & at large so there is no turning back... EVERYBODY DOES words & music: bill mallonee You know I can't remember...where the transaction took place Where the glad exchange & happy fault...smiled and embraced She said: "you know I love you" & I believed her just because I had some bad religion once, but then everybody does Everybody does...everybody does... I soldiered through East Texas to put my 2 years in We were sent to solve the problem they called the Indian I cut bait in the last battle; I felt not a lick of shame I could not slay brother or sister in any God's Good Name Everybody does...everybody does... I was baptized in the Brazos by a medicine man He put a stone with my new name on it in the palm of my hand You might say my eyes were open when i lifted up the cup You might say my eyes were open, but i hardly knew they were shut Everybody does...everybody does...

THE LOT OF EVERYMAN words & music: bill mallonee admin BMI c 2018 The last thought that crossed your mind before you drifted off you held it like a diamond till everything got lost Lost within the shadows always there to lend a hand that wait on the periphery the lot of everyman Let us send for ancient visions born on angels wings every dream is sweetly freeze-framed like flowers by a stream Where people dwell inside their cells fashioned by their own hands What do you make of it, the lot of everyman? There was a fly that interposed and a flood of dusty doubts You opened up a keyhole and there you drifted out drifted out along the shoreline where joy kisses the sands the geography of gladness the lot of everyman Lost within the shadows that seem to stalk this land what do you make of it, the lot of everyman? credits released February 14, 2021 Bill Mallonee: acoustic guitar, resonator guitar, 12-string guitar, bass, vocals all rights reserved Admin by BMI c. 2018 all rights reserved

(THERE WE GO) OUT INTO THE BLUE words & music by Bill Mallonee c. 2021 Admin BMI published by "Once More, This Time With Feeling" music First there's gettin' born Then there's gettin' torn losing all of your baby light A lifeboat in such stormy seas that's what I will be for you There We Go There We Go Out Into The Blue There's a story to be be told and you're the only one who holds the pen to make the strophes so bold against the tapestry of days Love's the only gold you hold So never pay them with your soul There We Go There We Go Out Into The Blue Honey, you had every right to shake your head at all I said that night sometimes you gotta sleep with your knife The waves within? They rose & crashed Mercy's all I ask There We Go There We Go Out Into The Blue... released February 22, 2021 Bill Mallonee: vocals, guitars, bass, baritone guitar, lap steel, harmony vocals all rights reserved

I THOUGHT YOU SHOULD KNOW words & music bill mallonee 2020 published by "Once More, This Time With Feeling" Music. BMI c.2020 I suppose it couldn't last; outcomes can be delayed and the tables are surely turned when you look the other way I was trying, just trying to live a little more on the bright side Hope is a friend...but sometimes drifting...and her smile it is elusive. Took to the road; Took to the streets I wrote it in the sky for everyone to see You roll your eyes; You shake your head You're not listening & it shows but I wanted you to know... You sharp fedora-ed Bodhisattva; Ah, you little Aztec king your eyes brimming full of kindness "Truck-chita" skidding Sunday gravel Took to the road; Took to the street I wrote it in the sky for everyone to see You check your phone just like a tomb You're not listening & it shows but I wanted you to know... Took to the road; Took to the street I wrote it in the sky for everyone to see You check your phone Just like a tomb You're not listening & it shows but I wanted you to know... Took to the road Takes a little courage, takes a little faith. BEST SEAT IN THE ROOM w&m Bill Mallonee c. 2021 admin by BMI I'd just assume to let the whole thing ride If it's all the same to you if what you say falls on deaf ears? Well there's not much you can do You & Me Staring down the gloom Waters ripple beneath a blue moon So much for all we tried...tried to hold onto We've got the best seat in the room Well, i came stumblin' in I was scared, I was in flight A little shaky, you might say, eyes darting left & right I always come here as a beggar with a heart just like a feather I was baptized by the mountains, the blue sky and the sea ever since i began to crawl The Spirit kissed my brow beneath the waterfall You & Me Staring down the gloom Waters ripple beneath a blue moon So much for all we tried...tried to hold onto We've got the best seat in the room You & Me Staring down the gloom Angels smile at us in front of empty tombs So much for all we tried...tried to hold onto We've got the best seat in the room Might be the best seat in the room Might be the best seat in the room credits Bill Mallonee: acoustic & electric guitars, bass, lap steel

about

Liner notes of Spring 2021 for this full-album.
I have never done this before, but man, oh, man...the time is ripe! So many new ideas & songs, I thought my head would explode!
THE LAST 6 MONTHS HAVE BEEN GOLDEN! FRUITFUL!
I have been on blue streak with writing! What you have here are recent full-band demos, very thought-out & well recorded. (I've written over 100 new songs to sort through, all written within the last 5 months.)

Lot's of "new directions." So I wanted to cull them all under one umbrella call it an album...and share them with you.
THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU for supporting my work, indie/Americana music & the spirit behind it all.
Grace & Joy on the Journey!
Bill
